Should this process be automated?

Eight practical questions produce a directional readiness score. The result is not a sales promise and does not replace testing the actual systems.

01How often does the work occur?Frequent work creates more opportunity for repeatable value.
02How much team time does it consume each month?Include collection, entry, review, correction, and follow-up.
03How consistently can the decision rules be explained?A written rule can be tested; an unwritten judgment needs more discovery.
04How structured are the inputs?Digital records are usually easier to validate than paper or free-form communication.
05What access do the systems provide?APIs are helpful, but managed exports, SFTP, CLIs, and database views can also work.
06How much of the work requires human judgment?Automation can route exceptions without pretending every case is identical.
07What happens when the process is late or wrong?Higher operational impact strengthens the case for controls, monitoring, and evidence.
08What is happening to the workload?A stable process may be manageable today but break as volume or locations increase.
